At Eastleigh Services, we’re always looking for ways to improve the service we provide to our customers while reducing our impact on the environment. As part of our ongoing commitment to becoming a greener and more environmentally friendly business, we’re pleased to announce that we have transitioned all but one of our fleet of service vans from diesel to electric. The remaining van which we could not transition to totally electric due to logistical challenges we have transitioned to a petrol/electric hybrid.

Our engineers spend a significant amount of time on the road travelling to customers across the local area. With a fleet of vans covering thousands of miles each year, the move away from diesel is an important step towards reducing the environmental impact of our day-to-day operations.

Why have we made the switch to electric?

Transport is an important part of running a our business, but we recognise that traditional diesel vehicles contribute to carbon emissions and air pollution. By switching our fleet to electric vehicles, we can significantly reduce exhaust emissions while our engineers are travelling between jobs.

Another impact is of course cost. Reducing costs where possible is important to us to help secure our business in the face of rising fossil fuel costs. Harnessing electric which is currently a cheaper and cleaner option helps us in that respect.

For us, becoming more environmentally responsible isn't about making one big change - it's about making a series of improvements across the business wherever we can. Moving our vans to electric is one of the most significant steps we've taken so far.

A cleaner way to deliver our services

Our electric vans allow us to continue providing the same reliable repair and servicing solutions our customers expect, but with a lower-emission fleet.

We’re particularly pleased that the transition allows us to combine our commitment to excellent customer service with our responsibility to consider the environmental impact of our business.

As a local business, we believe it's important to play our part in helping create a cleaner environment for the communities we serve. Every journey made in an electric van is another journey where we’re reducing our reliance on fossil fuels.

Switching our fleet to electric is just one part of a wider commitment to becoming a more sustainable business. We're continually looking at other ways we can reduce waste, improve efficiency and make more environmentally responsible choices.
